The Home Depot Pro - Capability Development Manager will assist in the design, launch, execution, and management of training and skill development initiatives that support the sales strategy for the organization. This person will provide instructional design support to cross-function key stakeholders, ensure sales enablement programs and tools are consistently utilized, and reinforce learned sales behaviors and methodologies. In addition, he/she will evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of training initiatives and assist in the talent management / talent assessment process for sales professionals. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager – Sales Professional Development.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
25%- Coaching, talent management / talent assessment for Regional Managers, National Account Managers, and field sales associates.
35%- Instructor led classroom workshops to provide knowledge transfer, skill set development, and adoption of consultative selling principles to the entire sales organization
40%- Instructional design/development support to cross-function key stakeholders for sales enablement programs.
Nature and Scope
Reports to the Senior Manager – Sales Professional Development. This position has two direct reports.
Environmental Job Requirements
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Education Required - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience - 5
Physical Job Requirements - Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
Additional Qualifications - Experience using the Microsoft Office
Suite of Outlook, PowerPoint, Word,
Excel and WebEx.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience with Adobe InDesign and video editing software a plus.
