Short Description
This Directors of Healthcare Access are responsible for various areas under the scope of responsibility for Healthcare Access. Healthcare Access is responsible for the Emergency Department, Urgent Cares, Admissions, Insurance Verification/HCA Patient Access Specialist, registration at Diagnostic Testing Sites, Preauthorization for various modalities, Surgical Scheduling for various modalities and Patient Financial Navigation.
The director plans, organizes, and directs all activities associated with the front end of the revenue cycle for hospital-based services for the modalities under the scope of responsibility for Healthcare Access in accordance with established policies of Cooper University Health Care.
The Director is responsible for the organization, control and management of customer service, quality assurance, management reporting, budgetary requirements, records management, registration, eligibility, point of service collection, payer information, employee system training, and EPIC application support. Ensures accurate, complete, and timely collection of patient information. Maximizes revenue opportunities while providing optimal customer service to internal and external customers. Responsible for ensuring team is well versed in the Model AIDET guidelines in all interactions with the patient and ensure staff are adhering to those guidelines.
Responsible for compliance and training on healthcare access polices and regulations as it pertains to CMS, HIPAA, and other governing bodies. Focuses on employee engagement, retention and creates an environment of continuous learning and staff development. Will need to travel between various locations for skip rounding. This position reports to Sr. Director of Healthcare Access.
Experience Required
Seeking a director with 3-5 years of expertise with the front end of the revenue cycle for hospital-based services for the Emergency Department, Urgent Care, Admissions, and Inpatient services in accordance with established policies of Cooper University Health Care.
Education Requirements
Bachelors required.
