The System Administrator is responsible for proactively monitoring performance and availability of the enterprise and data center network infrastructure within the organization. This includes specific duties in installation, administration, support, planning, documentation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization’s network, systems, and storage (SAN).

This position is located onsite at our Corporate Office in Sorrento Valley, San Diego; no remote work available.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, configuration, support, and maintenance of server, networking equipment, and storage solutions.
Ability to lead resolution for systems/network related requests (trouble calls/tickets/emails). Will partner with the IT Operations Team (NOC/Deskside) to analyze and evaluate infrastructure incident and problem management.
Conduct root cause analysis for break/fix scenarios and recommend technology improvements in order to provide higher service availability and resiliency.
Plan, schedule, and implement systems/network changes in approved maintenance windows
Work with IT Management to help develop and maintain procedures, documentation, lifecycle management, inventory of systems/network infrastructure.
Continually seeks opportunities to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
Participate in 24/7 on-call coverage on a rotational basis.
Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning.
Assists in ensuring the system environments meet required security levels and best practices.
Supports administration of servers and applications for on premise data centers cloud based infrastructure (AWS/O365/etc).
Deploy, configure, and manage infrastructure monitoring systems to support service levels
Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization
Ensure all changes to the production environment have been tested, documented, and approved prior to implementation
Provide training and guidance to less experienced administrators on various projects and activities.
Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related field or 5+ years of relevant work experience required AND
2+ years in Enterprise/Production data networks supporting medium to large network infrastructures required
Installing/administration/deploying production servers
Administering production servers and data center environments
Active Directory
Windows Server Standard and Enterprise
Skilled in using system monitoring utilities and virtual technologies (VMWare)
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work with an ITIL-based methodology and approach
Amazon Web Services experience a plus (EC2/VPC/RDS)
Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact with all levels of the IT organization
