This internship is in the Market Analysis & Strategy department. The team is responsible for delivering strategic and tactical insights to our sales and marketing partners based on analyses of various large data sources. Using various statistical and analytical techniques, we actively participate in Genentech’s commercial planning efforts by providing unbiased, objective answers to critical business questions.
As an intern on the Market Analysis & Strategy team, you will gain hands on experience with the biotechnology industry and the data that drive many key decisions for the business. You will participate in key meetings and activities, own an analytical project, and interact with and present to our key business partners.
Responsibilities may include, but aren’t limited to:
Performing various statistical analyses on large data sources to answer key business questions
Creating recommendations for our sales and marketing partners based on the findings of your analyses
Presenting findings to key stakeholders across the commercial organization
Partnering effectively and collaborating with other MA&S colleagues to provide holistic analytical insight
Master's or PhD candidate in Economics, Statistics, Engineering or related field
Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g., SAS, SPSS, SQL, R, MATLAB)
Demonstrated ability to structure and conduct analyses to generate actionable strategic insights
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A keen eye for detail
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast paced, multitasking environment
Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets
