About the Opportunity

The Assistant Registrar willwork in our administrative offices located in the Battery Park area of New York City. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting the Registrar in numerous tasks involving the management of student records and registration. This position assists the Registrar in providing quality customer service to internal customers (students, faculty, and staff) and external customers (former students, transfer institutions, reporting agencies, and employers). You will also be responsible for the following Registrar functions:

  • Assists Registrar in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of student records
  • Maintains the student records database
  • Provides quality customer service to students, faculty, staff, and various outside reporting agencies
  • Processes transcript requests
  • Processes enrollment verifications and other student requests for special information
  • Reviews student records and completes degree audits for graduating students
  • Assists with the evaluation of transfer credit and enters accurate course equivalencies into student database
  • Monitors and releases holds on student records
  • Assists with the clinical evaluation grading process which includes the posting of clerkship grades
  • Provides assistance to students in resolving problems associated with registration
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

This is a Full-time position in a fast paced deadline driven environment requiring occasional night or weekend work. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm with a 30 minute meal break. The Assistant Registrar will work in the Registrar department and report to the Senior Assistant Registrar. Please note that this University is open year round (12 months) and office hours for the Registrar department are not the same as student and/or faculty schedules.

Required Qualifications

You must have a friendly, cheerful and helpful disposition. You must be highly detail oriented, well organized and able to multitask. You must have strong written and verbal communication skills. You must have a Bachelor’s degree and experience working in higher education. Medical Education background preferred. You must have an expert level of proficiency in Excel and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word) and Power Point. Familiarity of student management systems is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
