Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
Incumbent is responsible for the billing collections processes from insurers and patients for Ambulatory Surgery Centers. This role ensures accurate and timely submission of claims, follow up on outstanding accounts, work all denials and assist patients with billing inquiries and collections. Performs patient accounting functions that may include payment posting and reconciliation. Reviews all accounts within assigned inventory and ensures the timely collection of those accounts.

Required Qualifications:

Proficient in Commercial, Medicare and Medi-Cal billing and claims processing with sound knowledge of respective rules, regulations and compliance guidelines

Previous Customer Service experience working with self-pay/private-pay patient receivables
-
Must possess effective time management and organization skills
-
Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD billing codes, authorization requirements and related documentation

Good communication skills to effectively interact with payers, patients and their families and other staff in PFS or across the organization

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Demonstrated experience using computers and related programs and applications

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
-
2 years of experience in medical billing and collections
Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese

ASC billing and collection experience
