Job Responsibilities: This position will work closely with the TRIO team to create a welcoming and warm environment for students who are seeking reprieve and services from Student Support Services and who are participating in the Upward Bound programming. Additional duties include maintaining databases for all program participants, supporting the Director in report completion, collecting data for grants, managing phone calls, greeting visitors, assisting with scheduling meetings, and program events and other special functions. This position is also responsible for budget, bill pay, reconciliation and other fiscal roles.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Computer software applications (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Banner Student)
- Business English including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Database management
- Customer service practices
Skill & Ability to:
- Build and maintain effective relationships
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Communicate information clearly and concisely
- Work with diverse populations and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds (first generation, low income, documented disability)
Comments: Previous TRIO experience or experience with similar programs is a plus. SDSU is a tobacco free environment. This position will be responsible for supporting the Director, ensuring the office is running efficiently, interacting with high school and college students, working with budgets and maintaining a high level of kindness and support for all students.
