Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University’s Jupiter Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) is recruiting an Assistant Director of Academic Programs to serve as a senior staff team member who will contribute to the development and delivery of quality continuing education programs for FAU’s Lifelong Learning community.

The Assistant Director of Academic Programs' responsibilities will include:

Collaborate with senior staff in the production of three catalogs per year, as well as data assessments in correlation with membership, registration, enrollment and efficiencies related to course offerings.

Work with FAU academic deans and department chairs to identify and recruit faculty from neighboring higher education and research institutions who demonstrate the expertise to facilitate Florida Atlantic University’s LLI courses and programs.

Manage the research and evaluation LLI process with regard to instructional delivery in accordance with LLI highest quality program standards.

Manage quality control of LLI classes by utilizing a faculty orientation and class observation process.

Work in conjunction with the Curriculum Committee of the Advisory Board to oversee course reevaluation process.

Develop the relevant metrics necessary to access program and faculty success as well as student satisfaction with course offerings.

Assure that faculty receive relevant and timely data obtained through the LLI class evaluation process; and implement any necessary instructional adjustments.

Review instructor travel and research grant requests.

Oversee and administer scholarships award by LLI in conjunction with the scholarship committee.

Work with the Executive Director and FAU Deans to manage LLI’s program of utilizing PhD students to lead small discussion classes.

Investigate and propose best practices for institutional instructional delivery relating to adult education based programs, including methods to diversify student body and broaden academic scope.

Participate in the development of partnerships with community service organizations, cultural institutions and other resources to enhance LLI course offerings.

Manage course descriptions and instructor bios for inclusion in each semester’s LLI catalog.

Develop and assist with the implementation of the academic calendar and course schedules.

Serve as a liaison to the Advisory Board’s Curriculum and Scholarship Committee and other Committees as assigned by the Executive Director.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of experience in Adult and Continuing Education required.

Ability to work professionally with faculty and executive management to determine strategic recommendations and implementation strategies.

Ability to assist in the development of and deliver impactful and relevant learning programs that drive improved academic performance.

Prior teaching and education administration and/or curriculum development experience preferred.

Excellent oral, written and communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft office applications.

Salary:
$36,640 - $46,640

Work Days and Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Nights and weekends, as needed.
