Participates in a focused training program designed to prepare the Associate for a successful career as a Synovus Banker. Program is focused on building business and commercial banking acumen by developing foundational credit analysis skills and business development skill, then applying it in a work environment. Program and training will support Synovus's Commercial, Corporate, and Retail lines of business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Community Banking: Successfully completes specialized training and developmental training courses for Community Banking that targets companies with revenues between $2.5 and $35 million. Program includes: systems and process training, spreading, participation in community case studies and rotations through the Community Lending Center. Under supervision, applies these skills in the work environment to demonstrate mastery of the topics by preparing annual company reviews and underwriting memos focused on identifying risks to repayment and ability to service debt.
Participates in class and web-based training courses focused on analyzing company's financial, operational, management and industry risks and ability to service debt.
Successfully completes specialized training covering sales and business development skills.
Develops client service skills, including knowledge of products and services used to develop relationships, helping commercial, retail, and corporate customers succeed.
Successfully completes specialized training covering leadership, professional development, public speaking, and other business topics. Attends classes and participates in all exercises covering these topics, including preparation and delivery of presentations and speeches.
Successfully completes a variety of developmental assignments and special projects.
Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate company authority in a timely fashion.
Performs other related duties as required.
