Position description

To carry out intraoperative monitoring of EEG or EMG and Evoked Potentials during surgical procedures assisting the surgeon in prevention of neurological deficits. To perform routine procedures in the Clinic or hospital EEG, EMG or EP laboratories when not in the operating room.

Qualifications

Requires a minimum of an associate’s degree in Applied Science or related science. Those hired into this job description prior to year 2013 will not be impacted by this requirement.

Additional qualifications

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in routine neurodiagnostic testing is preferred. Computer skills required. Ability to work independently and shows proficiency in troubleshooting.

License or certification

Must be a current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist, Clinical Neurophysiology Technologist graduate or current CNT student to apply. Within two years of employment, specific certification through ABRET â€" Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP); American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET; R.NCS.T.) is required in the laboratory of hire. Must have current certification in Basic Life Support.

Those hired into this job description prior to year 2013 will not be impacted by the lab specific certification requirement. The Certification Examination in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring is strongly encouraged.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $26.61 per hour.
