This position contributes to the mission of CHI Health by assisting in the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of programs and policies related but not limited to patient care in Cardiovascular Services. This position is part of the CHI Health Heart Institute, and as such participates in system initiatives which integrate the delivery of all cardiovascular services. The director assists the organization by providing administrative oversight in the management and delivery of cardiovascular services. The director assures patient and physician needs are met through the delivery of high quality services and efficiency. The director actively supports and participates in the governance structure to create an integrated, values-based environment at CHI Health.

Directs, maintains, and provides oversight of research activities engaged upon by the CHI Health Heart Institute through collaboration with the Creighton University Research Exchange (CURE).
Directs, maintains or provides oversight of all data analytics, information management, data warehousing relative to the CHI Health Heart Institute, including financial, quality, and operational data.
Directs, maintains or provides oversight of CV quality improvement activities in direct collaboration with CHI Health quality department. This to include data abstraction and registry oversight.
Provides oversight of project management within the CHI Health Heart Institute through collaboration with the health system’s performance excellence department.
Works closely with system, site, and clinic operations to effectively integrate cardiovascular services in new and established markets.
Coordinates and evaluates all new and future technologies related to cardiovascular care for their integration within the CHI Health Heart Institute’s data management requirements and needs.
Promotes a positive and organized work environment that promotes employee engagement. Conducts and collaborates on performance appraisals, corrective actions and plans for improvement. Actively involved in selection, orientation, and development of staff.
Communicates problems/issues, department/unit status, and specific projects status to the VP of the CHI Health Heart Institute.
Maintains a high degree of discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information contained in reports, minutes, letters and other documents.
Develops and implements programs, policies, procedures, and standards of care in conjunction with the activities and goals of the CHI Health Heart Institute.
Works closely with physician dyads and administration to achieve CHI Health Heart Institute goals.
Accepts responsibility for assigned system activities and works towards full integration of the Institute.
Participates in all safety, security and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the department.
Demonstrates work practices consistent with CHI Health and department-specific safety, security and infection control policies.
Other duties as assigned by leadership and organization.
Required Education: Sys/Div/Mkt/Local Director – Required Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline; Master’s Degree strongly preferred

Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO must say “Professional Level-with AED”, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

Required Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must possess strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and management, strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong project management skills; good communication skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change management skills. Must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation, team orientation, professionalism, and trust and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.

Preferred Qualifications: Phd Preferred. Experience with statistical support software’s, data visualization tools, statistical programming.
