Reporting to the Senior Vice President, HR/CHRO, the Senior HR Business Partner will serve as the primary liaison and HR strategic advisor for Department Leaders and People Leaders. Responsible for providing comprehensive, senior level HR generalist support for assigned division/functional area(s) in all areas of human capital management. This role will have high visibility and involvement in both operational and strategic aspects of the corporation.
Essential Functions for this role include:
Drive intra-departmental collaboration (e.g., within HR department) to provide timely solutions and support.
Proactively identify needs of their respective business area, and manage competing priorities, develop relationships, and consult with leaders to understand their needs and to provide forward-leaning, mission-focused strategic and tactical Human Resources guidance and solutions.
Attend regular divisional and management meetings to stay abreast of plans, programs issues and initiatives and build positive working relationships.
Serve as point of contact for division management regarding HR policies, programs, and services, as well as laws and regulations affecting the employment relationship.
Provide guidance regarding HR programs and activities. Serves as resource for all areas of Human Resources, including benefits and compensation, performance management, talent management, succession management, HRIS and Learning. Coordinate responses and services with the appropriate HR specialists.
Counsel, coach, and mentor managers regarding the talent management aspects of their role including performance management, talent assessment, goal setting and measurement of results, mentoring, tactical supervisory skills, providing feedback, terminations, etc.
Manage the Employee Relations function for assigned division/functional area(s). Serve as a resource for employee counseling, monitor the implementation of personnel policies and procedures to ensure consistency and equitable application in accordance with company policies and federal/state laws, and provides guidance to management staff relative to employee relations issues, progressive disciplinary action or performance counseling, and termination of employment. Consult with leaders on diversity and EEO issues.
Will engage across HR business lines (e.g., Total Rewards) as needed to provide comprehensive HR support to the business.
Will engage With People Leaders regularly to ‘push’ mission-critical information, initiatives and gather feedback.
Responsible for making recommendations concerning hiring, discharge, discipline, advancement, promotion, organization design, career planning, or other activities affecting associates within the assigned division. Works with the corporate staffing consultant to ensure appropriate staffing, timely filling of vacancies, and regular communication regarding the recruitment process.
Oversee terminations, conduct exit interviews, provide COBRA orientation, participates in grievance procedures for the assigned division, and secure the return of property.
If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply:
At least 10 years of Human Resources Generalist experience within a complex, multi-tiered organization. Matrixed organization experience a plus. Strategic and tactical planning experience required.
Thorough understanding of Human Resources related federal and state laws and regulations
Experienced in developing and implementing Human Resources strategy, practices and programs
Understanding of organizational interdependencies, interfaces and processes
Ability to develop deep knowledge and build partnering relationships within the departments served.
Experience with all aspects of Human Resources (e.g., compensation & benefits, training and development and employee relations)
Experience with handling complex employee relations issues
Experience in and/or strong knowledge of the financial and/or investment services industry
