Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator needed for established construction apprenticeship program in San Diego. Must be reliable, have a strong work ethic and possess a positive attitude (must be a team-player). Looking for a self-motivated and articulate candidate who possesses basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and an ability to proficiently produce technical writing. Looking for someone with construction experience as-well-as curriculum and instruction development experience in the K-12, community college, or vocational programs. Experience with NCCER preferred.
Confers with federal, state, and local school officials to develop curriculum and establish guidelines for educational classes for apprentices, journeymen, and instructors. Also develops and implements strategies to attract and retain students and instructors. Coordinates evening programs to evaluate performance of all instructors. Ensures that all requirements regarding program’s education/certification programs are met.
Works with instructors to develop instructional skills. Oversees the development of classes and course scheduling. Evaluates and monitors student performance. Implements programs and strategies to achieve high graduation rates. Additional responsibilities may include planning of special events and training workshops.
