Performs general accounting task including capital asset management, general ledger account reconciliations, maintaining amortization schedules, reviewing expense accounts, coding and posting journal entries as appropriate and ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP and company’s accounting policies and procedures.
Maintains capital asset inventory by entering new purchases, retiring disposed assets and updating depreciation on current fixed assets. Performs accounting related activities including month end close, account reconciliations, internal controls and other general ledger activity. Prepares ad-hoc financial reports as requested by management. Produces accurate and timely financial reports, for internal and external use in accordance with GAAP.
Candidates are required to have an Associates Degree or equivalent from a two year College or Technical School, ability to understand fundamentals of accounting procedures, possess well developed interpersonal skills, and have worked in an accounting environment for at least three years. Demonstrated experience in a relevant accounting role may be substituted for the educational requirement. JD Edwards or other Oracle software experience is strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration is strongly preferred.
