Description: Wastewater Class 3 Trainer
Department: Training and Development
Overview:
As an independent consultant, we are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Wastewater Class 3 Trainer to join our growing work force development team in Georgia. The Trainer will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive training programs for wastewater treatment professionals, ensuring they meet the standards required for Class 3 certification. The Trainer will support the development of relevant curriculum from training initiatives to meeting graduation goals, while ensuring the cultivation of strong relationships with Participants and the training program, from first contact through the entire training life cycle, including ensuring proper participant servicing. The Trainer will act as the focal point of day-to-day delivery of subject matter content and necessary documentation, between potential and/or existing key Participants. Overall, the trainer will develop and implement training materials, conduct classes, and provide hands-on instruction to help participants understand and excel in wastewater management.
● Key Responsibilities:
¨ Training Delivery: Conduct classroom and hands-on training sessions on wastewater treatment processes, safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
¨ Curriculum Development: Develop and update training materials, manuals, and resources to reflect current industry standards and regulatory changes.
¨ Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer tests and assessments to evaluate trainees' knowledge and skills. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
¨ Compliance: Ensure training programs comply with Georgia state regulations and industry standards.
¨ Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on advancements in wastewater treatment technology and methods. Incorporate new knowledge into training programs.
¨ Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and participant performance. Prepare reports as required.
¨ Support: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to trainees, answering questions, and offering guidance as needed.
● Administering of Courses
o Provide instruction and guide participants through the curriculum and related activities.
o Facilitate the Slater Certified® curriculum and supplemental curriculum.
o Invite and coordinate any and all guest speakers.
o Display a deep understanding of the Slater Certified curriculum.
o Facilitate and attend all classes pertaining to the program.
o Travel to the location(s) where the classes are held.
o Identify presenters to present topics covered in the curriculum (as needed);
o Submit attendance daily and 1 copy of the final attendance sheet;
o Share graduation certificates electronically with all students who complete the requirements
o Deploy and collect surveys from participants as needed;
o Manage the distribution/ printing of class materials and attendance; and
o Track success stories and identify participants who could benefit from one-on-one coaching.
● Administering Coaching Course
o Provide instruction and guidance to participants selected by Slater Infrastructure Group to receive coaching; and
o Help participants resolve individual issues and obstacles that prevent them from accessing / growing /reaching the curriculum.
● Preparation & Professional Conduct
o Trainer must be able to begin work immediately on the courses they are selected to facilitate and are expected to arrive prepared and on time to all classes they facilitate;
o Trainer must participate in Slater Certified® facilitation sessions as needed;
o Trainer must devote 1-3 office hours each week;
o Trainer must connect with the Slater Certified® program manager at least three times per course: before the course begins, in the middle of the course, and after the course ends; or as appropriate;
o Trainer must notify the program manager immediately in case of emergencies or as issues arise.
o Trainer are responsible for contacting the program manager in these cases and notifying the program manager about emergencies, issues and challenges that impact the delivery of the sessions.
o Trainer must provide feedback to the program manager on class outcomes, improvements, and changes.
o Trainer must collect handwritten attendance from all in-person course participants at each class and submit the digital copy and excel document of the attendance sheet to the Slater Certified® program manager within one week after the class ends;
o Trainer are not employees but represent Slater Infrastructure Group, as members of the Training community. Slater Infrastructure Group expects that Trainer demonstrate the utmost professional conduct and comport themselves professionally in all interactions with Slater Certified participants, Slater Certified partners, Slater employees, and the Slater Certified program manager.
● Qualifications:
Certification: Must hold a valid Georgia Wastewater Treatment Operator Class 3 license.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations, with experience in training or teaching preferred.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of wastewater treatment processes, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in the use of training aids, multimedia tools, and relevant software.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate trainees.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt training methods to meet the diverse needs of trainees.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Working Conditions:
Environment: Training may be conducted in classroom settings, at treatment plants, or other relevant facilities, including virtual/web based delivery format.
Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct hands-on training, which may involve walking, standing, and handling equipment.

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
