Cook Job Description
Essential Job functions:
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking, chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.
Adhere to prep recipe specifications.
Ensure all China food deliveries are properly checked in, put away, labeled, dated and rotated
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Check quality of ingredients
Prepare delicious, eye appealing food following standard recipes and procedures
Cleans, organizes, and maintains walk-in refrigerator, reach-in refrigerator ,prep, and dry storage area
Understands and follows all food safety and temperature standards
Preparing, washing, peeling, and/or cutting various food to be cooked or served to standards
Carrying equipment, food supplies, and utensils to and from work and storage areas
Ensures that produce are properly stored and labeled in containers in proper storage areas to prevent spoilage.
Ensures that Managers are informed of low inventory and if equipment not working properly
Perform additional duties as required
Frequent lifting, moving and carrying of kitchen ware, cleaning equipment, food boxes, garbage etc. weighing up to 50 pounds in the BOH.
Regular and prolonged standing and walking to prepare food, clean work station, move garbage, etc.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
