About the Position:
The SLP will work with clients at both SpecKids locations (one location per day) as well as speech only clients who are not current clients at SpecKids. The SLP will work closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians to ensure that skills from speech are generalized into ABA sessions and vice versa. The SLP will conduct assessments, complete reports, and assist with appeals as necessary for insurance.
Perform initial assessments to determine if clients qualify for speech therapy services.
Create treatment plans to suit the individualized needs of our diverse population of clients.
Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include: parents and/or guardian, teachers, or medical professionals.
Conduct therapy sessions with speech clients.
Maintains client electronic and paper records for speech services.
Maintain client records in an accurate and timely manner.
Ensures proper scheduling of client sessions to maximize utilization of time.
Communicate with client caregiver(s) to ensure skills generalize outside of therapy sessions.
Utilizes special tools and treatments for the individualized needs of clients.
Complete required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
Offer positive suggestions/solutions to improve service delivery and unit operations.
Communicates with the Clinical Director and/or Chief Executive Officer regarding goals for current ABA clients.
Diagnose and evaluate speech and language deficits as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors.
Attend meetings and conferences and participate in various activities to promote professional growth and maintain continuing education units as required by licensure.
Participate in staff development and in-service education to learn new treatments and procedures, etc.
Maintain client confidentiality and follow all company policies to maintain protected health information for all clients.

Ability to independently complete various speech assessments
Ability to diagnose language disorders
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Effective communication and organizational skills
Excellent time management skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently
Demonstrate knowledge of current ethics and best practices in the area of speech and language
Sitting for extended periods of time
Travel between clinics (Kingwood and Missouri City)
Working on the floor with clients
TX state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (Required)
