floor specializes in the management of acute trauma and acute
vascular disease, patients with aneurysms, as well as other
neurosurgical problems such as brain tumors and spinal disorders.
We also provide expert management of stroke and epilepsy patients.

Continuity of Care Program (CCN)
70% FTE (28 hours per week), Days Shift (8 hours on Fridays, 10 hours on Saturday, 10 hours on Sundays)
60% FTE (24 hours per week), Day Shift (12 hour shifts or 8 hours as determined by Nurse Manager)
Continuity of Care Nurse (CCN) coordinates all aspects of care leading to a timely transition to the next level of care for patients on acute care units. The CCN serves as a liaison between patients, families, medical teams, nursing staff, social services, interdisciplinary team members, consulting and referring physicians and agencies involved in the care of patients from admission through the discharge process.
1. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.
2. Minimum of two years professional nursing experience in Trauma/General Surgery, Critical and/or Acute Care, Emergency Care, or equivalent education and experience.
3. Able to carry equipment (15-20lbs) from supply to the patient room
4. Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of acute care patients.
5. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required.
6. Some Case Management or discharge planning experience and understanding of care coordination and Transition of care
7. Have computer skill to facilitate and document timely interdisciplinary huddle report.
8. Very well developed Communication skill is critical for the workflow
PACU/Ambulatory Surgery; and Pre-Anesthesia
Min. two years current/recent ICU experience required. And, PACU experience is desirable.
Operating Room (OR) opportunities.

Requires minimum two years critical care (ICU or ED) RN work experience.

The Pediatrics Clinic at HMC provides complete care for infants, children and teens. The clinic utilizes a multidisciplinary staff that is highly collaborative and supportive, working together to achieve the best patient outcomes possible
Clinical services provided include:
general pediatric care( well-child care and sick care)/Care Coordination; hearing and vision screening; immunizations for children from birth through age 21; health education and disease prevention; confidential teen services; injury prevention information; same-day appointments for sick children; developmental evaluations; books for children through the Reach out and Read (ROR) program; safety supplies (bicycle helmets) through Injury Free Coalition for Kids (IFKC) of Seattle; dental screening; and newly arrived refugee medical screening. Ancillary services provided through the clinic include: lactation consultant services; social work services; interpreter services for non-English speaking families; legal counseling through a medical-legal partnership; access to Harborview's Community House Calls program to coordinate care for immigrant and refugee families; and health care financial counseling. In addition, the Harborview Pediatrics Clinic provides specialty care through its associated Foster Care Clinic, Adolescent Medicine Clinic, mental health services (Psychiatry and Psychology), and traumatic brain injury (TBI) services. As a hospital-based pediatric clinic, the Harborview Pediatric Clinic has on-site access to laboratory, imaging (CT, ultrasound, X-ray), pharmaceutical, and other general specialty
pediatric nursing work experience.
Pioneer Square/Downtown Programs
80% FTE ( 32 hours per week), Split day/evening, 4 days a week. Monday-Thursday. Hours would be 12:30-9pm.
We have a new grant to expand the staffing at the medical clinic in the DESC Main Shelter. This position would work into the evening to treat the residents of the shelter. The RN would work collaborative with the shelter staff to identify residents that would benefit from medical services. The position would also collaborate with the existing HMC staff at the main shelter to assure continuity of care. This position will be primarily sited in the DESC main shelter but may require some time working in one of the other sites in the Pioneer Square Downtown Programs.
70% FTE (28 hours / week) Day shift 5 days a week Tuesday - Saturday. Hours variable.
This is a split position providing nursing services on our Healthcare in Housing Team. The position will work between the Compass Center and the Estelle House, providing nursing care and linkages for the residents of the two buildings. This position will be primarily sited in Compass Center and Estelle but may require some time working in one of the other sites in the Pioneer Square Downtown Programs.
80% FTE (32 hours per week), Split day/evening, 4 days a week (4 Weekdays).
This is a split location position going between Pioneer Square Clinic and St. Martin de Porres Men’s Shelter. This position will provide nursing at both a primary care clinic as well as providing care and linkages for the residents of a large men’s shelter. This position will be primarily sited at Pioneer Square Clinic and St. Martins but may require some time working in one of the other sites in the Pioneer Square Downtown Programs.
75% FTE (30 hours per week)
Mobile Medical Van/Homeless Outreach Nurse
Hiring for nurse to join an interdisciplinary medical team to work with people who are homeless. The team is part of the Pioneer Square Downtown Programs Healthcare for the Homeless field based program and provides medical support to shelters and day centers. The nurse works with a medical assistant, primary care provider and patient service specialist. Presently the mobile medical van is being used as part of the COVID-19 response. Once the response is complete, the van will be sited at a permanent location to provide medical care to people in shelter and day programs.
60% FTE (24 hours per week)
Healthcare in Housing team at 1811 Eastlake
We have received a grant to expand our Pioneer Square Clinic / Downtown Programs Healthcare in Housing team at 1811 Eastlake. 1811 is a permanent supported housing building operated by Downtown Emergency Service Center. It was developed to provide housing and support services for folks struggling with alcohol use disorder. HMC has provided embedded nursing services there for many years. The RN works with an HMC medical provider as well as the staff from the building to provide integrated services for the residents. We received additional monies to provide services there into the evening. This position would work 3 days a week with a mix of split day / evening and day shifts.
Clinic Float Pool
100% FTE (40 hours per week), Day shift position (no weekends or holidays).
The Clinic (AACS) Float Pool provides coverage for RNs that expands across Harborview’s Campus to include Ninth and Jefferson and Maleng Buildings as well as clinics located at Patricia Steel (PSB) and Pioneer Square Clinic.
Must have 1-2 years of med-surg experience
Must be willing to provide care to full population range to include Pediatric and OB/Gynecology populations

AACS Primary Care Clinics- Care Manager
Hourly/Per-diem Ambulatory Care RN Care Manager position available
Looking for an hourly/per-diem RN/Care Manager to work across Harborview's AACS Primary Care Clinics in providing outpatient care management, population health, transitional care outreach. The per diem hours would be Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00AM to 4:30PM.
7MB Specialty Clinics- Case Manager
100% FTE (40 hours per week), Day shift position (no weekends or holidays).
7MB-Kidney Clinic, Care Manger, RN2 will serve as a liaison between the Renal access patients , Vascular clinic, dialysis units, staff from Harborview and outside hospitals, patients and patient families, referring physicians, outside agencies, and the HMC Renal service
As assigned by the AACS clinic practice manager and/or RN3 could assume the responsibility of charge nurse. Participates in clinic and selected divisional activities to promote delivery problem solving and communication and continued professional development for self and others.
Licensed as a RN to work in the state of WA and also one year of RN experience.
Heart Institute/Cardiology Clinic
Hourly, Variable, all holidays off.
The Heart Institute at Harborview Medical Center provides consultation and follow-up care for patients referred to the clinic for cardiac-related issues. Services include the evaluation and management of cardiac-related health problems, patient education, cardiac imaging; including heart catheterization and electrophysiology, stress testing and cardiac CT. Other services include anticoagulation monitoring, ECGs and echocardiography.
HCSATS (Harborview Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress)
Per diem SANE position (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner).
On call position providing care to adult, adolescent and pediatric victims of sexual assault including physical exam and forensic evidence collection. Service currently is provided at Harborview Medical Center and Valley Medical Center at a minimum. Program may expand in the next year to cover additional facilities in the Seattle area. 40 hour didactic SANE training is provided along with extensive orientation. Minimum availability of 72 hours per month in 12 or 24 hour shifts. Must be able to respond to cases at all 5 hospitals we serve (Harborview, Swedish 1st Hill, Children’s, UW Medical Center and Valley) within a 45 min to 1 hour response time. Emergency department, Women’s health and/or Pediatric experience preferred.
