We are looking for an experienced business analyst to join the team driving analytics to inform strategy, understand business performance, improve efficiency through automation and enable research leadership to make effective, data-driven decisions. This role will help aggregate and quantify the impact of research as well as lead the design and development of the tools that communicate this impact.

The goals of this position are to help Facebook establish itself as the leading collaborative research organization and the destination of choice for academic talent looking to help connect the world. Measuring and communicating high-quality research is a key contributor to this goal. The candidate will recognize success through helping others project the outputs of their research.

This is a full-time position located in either Menlo Park, CA or Seattle, WA.
Lead the design and development of Tableau dashboards to visualize research operations business metrics.
Perform data analysis across Facebook's research programs and review processes as well as other data feeds (e.g., business financials, publication impact metrics, online engagement and other social media, external programs, events).
Create and maintain the research project repository.
Contribute to process and solution design/prototyping that enable internal customers to consume and understand data faster.
Querying, transforming, and analyzing large datasets.
Build rich and dynamic dashboards using out-of-box features, customizations, and creative visualizations using in-house tools as well as third party tools such as Tableau.
Create insights through data exploration leading to observations and recommendations back to the business and to key stakeholders.
Communicate trends and insights to leaders as well as communicate data integrity issues or process gaps to individual team members and leads.
Evaluate additional information needs and recommend appropriate system changes or enhancements to meet the needs.
Draft, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools, assists Research Program Managers and review process owners in the development or customization of standard reports for ongoing customer needs, generates ad-hoc reports as required.
Automate solutions where appropriate.
5+ years problem-solving, technical and/or program management experience
4+ years hands-on experience in querying and working on large datasets
2+ years hands-on experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau
Experience with data analysis leveraging SQL
Experience with Tableau
Analytical and problem-solving experience
Data interpretation experience
Experience in owning and improving processes
Experience in a scripting language or statistical software packages
Advanced experience with Tableau
