TechGuard Security, LLC, a premier cyber security company, is seeking a Senior/Leading Software Testing Engineer to work with TechGuard’ s Information System Test and Evaluation Support Group. The Senior Software Test Engineer will be responsible for testing updates and fixes to custom software applications. The testing will consist of manual and automated testing. The candidate will provide testing leadership and customer interactions from Functional to User Acceptance testing. Candidate may also participate in requirements reviews to provide feedback on requirements and to ensure that functional requirements are testable and adequately documented to drive the test process. Assist in documentation review and updates. The Senior Software Test Engineer will report on the status of software quality to the Program and Project Manager. The Senior Software Test Engineer will report on the status of software testing (e.g., test case coverage, defects) to inform Go/No-Go decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leading the development of test plans, test procedures, and test cases from requirements and concepts of operations; including OT&E, IV&V and QA.
Leading testing and analysis of test outcomes.
Execution of test cases including functional, regression, and system tests; Efforts include, but are not limited to:
Analyzing Defense Security Service (DSS) requirements to ensure traceability, consistency, and measurability in order to generate Test plans and RTMs.
Execution of test procedures in test environments using HP ALM/Sprinter or UFT.
Validation of software changes in a test and operational environment to ensure that the intended functional requirements are met.
In depth knowledge in Software Development Life Cycle and its different types of methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile (Scrum).
Execution of testing procedures to ensure that software meet quality standards.
Developing, writing testing scripts and plans using HP ALM/UFT to ensure that software functions as expected.
Experience in implementing Test Plans, Test Reports, and Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) utilizing HP ALM.
Preparing data sets to test logic, error handling, and system workflows.
Isolating, reproducing, and tracking defects; Verifying fixes.
Assessing and reporting status and test results to management and the customer
Reporting defects, tracking, validating and closing them as they get fixed.
Preparing and delivering formal Test Reports as a result of IV&V testing. Providing daily In-process Test Report during test events.
Documents testing according to standardized procedures.
Leveraging technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness and expanding the use of automation.
Professional / Educational Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related discipline with 6-8 years related experience.
Candidate must be well versed in the fundamentals of software testing. This includes a demonstrated ability to define and execute a strategy based on system requirements, development goals, and timelines.
Candidate must be experienced in conducting and managing functional, integration, usability, load/stress, and performance testing.
5+ years of Software Engineering Test experience including 5+ years of expertise in Automated Testing and Quality Assurance software (ex. Hewlett Packard Application Lifecycle Management/Quality Assurance Center (HP ALM) v12.2+).
Proficient with HP WebInspect or similar tool for web application security testing.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Efficacy in both oral and written communication.
Ability to work independently or in group environments to achieve team goals.
Willingness to take and offer direction as needed to achieve team goals.
Requires SECRET clearance.
HP Tools Certification (ex. HP UFT v14+)
Experience with API/Web Service testing
Performance, Load, and Code Analysis testing
