We are seeking a mid-level System Engineer to join our team to perform daily system/network administration duties for a diverse set of users and a broad set of networking technologies. This role is end-user facing and requires experience with various OS, virtualization, and network platforms, such VMware 6.0, Cisco UCS, Network storage, Horizon View 7, and Active Directory. The System Engineer will be responsible for installation and configuration of virtual servers, VMware environment, Horizon View environment, and Cisco UCS and will be supported and trained by lead Network Engineer.


Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure.
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, virtualization software, and system management tools.
Install, configure, test, and maintain new hardware systems (e.g. servers, storage arrays, etc).
Develop and maintain standard images for end-user systems.
Assist in the creation of availability targets and manage the infrastructure to the defined metrics.
Assist in the design, implementation, and management of security systems and redundant data backups.
Provide 3rd-level support for issues escalated from the service desk to accurately test, identify, repair, resolve, and document end-user technical issues.
Provide advanced support for desktop/laptop/workstation/VM systems
Collaborate with other team members.
Take ownership of issues from end-to-end to reach a resolution for all appropriate requests and incidents.
Perform other projects or miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned.
Shift work may be required, potentially to include nights, weekends, and holiday.

Minimum of 5 years server administration
Minimum of 5 years of networking experience
3-5 years of experience managing Active Directory
3-5 years of experience managing Horizon View or similar (VDI) Virtualization software
1-3 years of experience managing Cisco UCS infrastructure
3-5 years of experience with VMware ESXi 6.0
Horizon View 7 and App Vols experience preferred
Storage experience with Nimble and QNAP storage systems
Experience with Solarwinds NPM
Experience with Nutanix
Experience with Azure or AWS

Experience managing GPO, Windows Deployment Services, Windows Server Update Services, and Systems Center Configuration Manager
Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
Ability to perform in a dynamic environment with changing schedules and priorities.
Ability to handle heavy volume of IT requests and incidents.
Physical ability to lift 30-50lbs daily.
