Full Job Description
Manages, plans, organizes and evaluates the administrative near and long-term operational goals and objectives of a multi-disciplinary, multi-shift laboratory (Core Labs, Tertiary Hospital) or multiple Community Hospital laboratories in compliance with applicable regulatory standards and internal policies.
Assists in developing and monitoring strategic operating goals and objectives; and reports operational performance, justification and/or corrective action.
Contributes in developing and overseeing financial management including budget, salary, capital, and revenue projections.
Evaluates quality management and performance improvement programs across all clinical and administrative disciplines and ensures related policies and procedures are maintained, communicated and implemented.
Develops policies and procedures, in compliance with various regulatory agencies. Maintains established technical and operational standards to ensure compliance with licensing and accrediting agencies.
Completes outbound reports and documents concerning the Laboratory including, but not limited to, Certificate Of Need (CON) submissions, financial reports, testing statistics and management reports.
Develops, manages and evaluates direct reports; and oversees the development, management and evaluation of indirect reports.
Performs research and development of new test procedures and methodologies.
Coordinates collection and preparation of system statistical data, as required.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards including but not limited to: NYSDOH, CAP, AABB, OSHA, FDA, TJC, EPA, governing the Clinical Lab.
In absence of Director of Laboratory Operations, provides appropriate support and coverage.
Performs related duties, as required.
Bachelor’s Degree, required. Master’s Degree, preferred.
Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (LIC-CLT).
Minimum of eight (8) years including clinical, management and administrative experience, required. Laboratory experience, preferred.
