Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field may be substituted for experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with a minimum of three years' experience performing secretarial/clerical assistant duties in an office setting Departmental Requirements - Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Knowledge of office etiquette, how to run an office and ability to learn Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and additional computer software/databases Ability to learn PeopleSoft, Axium, Banner, Outlook, Quicken, and other software as needed Excellent customer service and organizational skills,ability to multi-task, work independently or as a team member and attention to detail including proofreading accuracy Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication Ability to maintain confidentiality
Experience with grants, particularly NIH funded projects Experience with PeopleSoft requisitions and account management Familiarity with Banner and AxiUm
Duties include but are not limited to:
Provide administrative support for the Advanced Education in the Periodontics Program and the Periodontics Immunology Laboratory, perform other administrative support tasks for Periodontics Department
Coordinate activities of the Periodontics Residency Program including maintaining on-call, seminar and lit review schedules, coordinating consultant coverage, lunch and learns, events, process travel authorizations and reimbursements, assists Program Director with daily activities of the program
Maintain academic grades for postgraduate periodontic courses, maintain and manage departmental program files and residents' academic records, coordinate interviews for prospective residents, plan annual resident graduation, coordinate new resident orientation, maintain residency program accounts and order supplies as needed
Communicate with patients, applicants and vendors as needed, fill-in for department Administrative Assistant, track chemical inventory and enter into university database, prepare and route grant materials
Other duties as assigned
