The Patient Financial Specialist is responsible for assisting with Patient Financial Services. Includes estimating patient financial responsibility, informing the patient of their financial obligations, processing payments, following up on claim status, billing and re-billing of claims.

Essential Responsibilities:
Analyzes information received and determines level of patient liability.
Communicates financial responsibility to the patients via telephone and collects estimated patient responsibility prior to the procedure.
Following the system and reference procedures to ensure proper account status at all times.
Proper adjustments being posted, proper financial class assigned, proper account documentation and billing status
Supports and actively participates in initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.
Other duties as assigned, and in keeping with Prelude's policies, procedures, compliance, standards of patient care and/or initiatives toward continuous improvement at the individual and organizational level.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred
1-3 years’ work experience in similar or related position or other office environment
