Summary:
Hal Jones Contractor is in search of a Pile Driving Foreman with heavy civil, marine, or concrete structure experience. The Pile Foreman will manage a pile driving crew, and coordinate with the on-site Superintendent to develop best methods to meet production goals. Our Pile Driving crews work with lattice boom cranes, and either vibratory or impact hammers, to install steel H-piles, sheet piles, concrete piles, and steel pipe piles. Foreman’s duties will involve managing labor and materials, scheduling, safety, and quality. Our work is local to Jacksonville.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Meet with Superintendent to review status of project, set production goals, update job progress, and address existing and potential issues impacting production.
· Ensure thorough understanding of job objectives to effectively direct crew in job tasks and activities required to meet daily goals.
· Plan the day to day operations on assigned project and ensure that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of work, including labor, tools, equipment and material; and oversee bridge crew activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality of finished product.
· Conduct daily briefings with crew to review production goals, performance feedback, safety and schedule, hazards and to solicit feedback from workers.
· Take responsibility for crew performance as it relates to Company goals, safety audits and following Company policies and procedures; coach, counsel and train crew members in machinery utilization and effective production operations; review crew training to accomplish cross-training on equipment, effective equipment maintenance and remedial operator training as needed.
· Review equipment condition, maintenance, and repair needs.
· Perform a variety of administrative tasks such as production reports, timesheets, equipment logs, and inspection reports.
· Always communicate and promote safe working practices and Company safety standards.
· Take action to handle the results of delays, bad weather or emergencies at construction site.
· Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction site to ensure that proper procedures are being followed.
Qualifications:
· 2+ years of related experience in any of the above categories.
· An understanding of the civil / marine construction industry and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Understanding of OSHA regulations pertaining to crane and bridge operations.
· Understanding of DOT specifications and standards.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Company standards.

The employee is occasionally required to reach, push, and pull with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Physical dexterity may involve stretching, proper placement of legs, and use of arms and hands in repetitive motions. The employee must be able to maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities occurring at the site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment and the movement of mobile equipment.
