The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is the nation's most effective environmental action organization. We use law, science and the support of 3.1 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things. NRDC was founded in 1970 and our staff helped write some of America's bedrock environmental laws, including the Clean Water Act, and many of the implementing regulations; our water enforcement cases played a major role shaping current water policy throughout the country. Today, our staff of more than 500 lawyers, scientists, economists, policy and communications experts, and others, work out of offices in New York, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Bozeman, Montana and Beijing.
We are seeking a creative and experienced individual to join the NRDC Digital Team on our CRM team. Working closely with NRDC’s Communications, Programs, and Fundraising teams, as well as external consultants, you will work on complex projects, coordinating across departments to build and maintain our Salesforce instance. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Salesforce and thinks strategically about technical project completion. The position reports to the Data Infrastructure Director in NRDC’s Communications Department. We will prioritize candidates who can work in NRDC’s New York office.
We strive to have a CRM and data infrastructure that is agile, stable, and secure. You will bring a high level of organization and initiative to supporting the CRM roadmap. We are looking for a professional who has proven Salesforce and project management proficiency and a desire to help the mission of NRDC.
With a detailed understanding of the Salesforce platform, and the orientation to always learn more, make careful, well-considered, long-term-oriented changes to the Salesforce platform resulting from either high-level architecture decisions and/or ground-level support requests.
Support staff to define needs and show them how to get what they’re looking for out of Salesforce.
Manage system and data integrity by establishing end-user best practices, leveraging administrative tools, and employing appropriate testing.
Engage in strategic thinking and planning about processes, vision, and improvements.
Work closely with the other members of the CRM team to arrive at smart, long-term-oriented decisions, and cover all of the many disparate areas required for effective management of the platform and people’s use of it.
Consulting Liaison Responsibilities:
Monitor all external consultant teams’ project progress.
Remove project impediments and being the first point of contact for external consultants.
Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution between internal and external Data Infrastructure teams.
Provide support to the team members, as needed, to ensure the team’s overall success.
3-5 years of Salesforce architecture and administration experience
Familiarity and/or experience working with agile software development processes
