Distributor Partner Manager
The end goal is to achieve our long-term vision of being the best DSD network in North America. The Distributor Partner Manager (DPM) is responsible for the strategy deployment, execution, and management of our Distributor Partners (DPs) to ensure 100% alignment and focus against distribution vision and initiatives. Main focus areas include: communicating strategic priorities; collaborating on the development of joint business plans; aligning, setting and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); ensuring implementation of merchandising standards; monitoring sales / POS progress against business plans; and coaching DPs to execute with excellence.
Consistently communicates with DP ownership and management to guarantee alignmentDevelops annual business plans with DPs to drive distribution, volume, and investmentsInitiates plans to drive KPI execution and maintain vertical accountability throughout the organizationMeets with DP leadership to conduct Monthly Planning and Review meetings as well as Quarterly Business Reviews to develop detailed and accurate action plans with clear milestones to achieve themEnsures volume, pricing and promotional information is captured into Customer Profitability Management (CPM) system so that all pricing is adjusted on schedule and customer agreements are upheld
Consistently promotes the use of tools, resources, and programs available to the DPsCreates relevant incentive programmingEffectively extrapolates data from Dispute Reports in order to assess root causes and resolve invoice conflictsActively encourages DPs to enroll independent accounts into the Volume Incentive Program (VIP), following up with a robust routine to ensure program compliance and growth
Performs ongoing market analysis with respect to volume, distribution, product competition, and distributor competitionIdentifies largest areas of opportunity for DP, and uses those insights to guide DP to up-level market conditionsEfficiently and effectively utilizes key functionalities of proprietary auditing software to verify standards in retail accounts in the Off Premise ChannelFully understands All Commodity Volume and ACV Weighted Distribution and its effect on IRi’s Market AreaEffectively extrapolates data from Dispute Reports in order to assess root causes and resolve invoice conflictsInterpret and evaluate key data pain-points compiled from Business Insights (BI) reportingAble to analyze and advise DPs on optimal route to market strategy
Acts as a trusted advisor in exploiting emerging opportunities internally and with DPsCommunicates regularly and works cross functionally to secure full alignment of the Business Unit (BU) goals with the DPUnderstands distributor’s internal systems, structure, hierarchy, and fosters relationships from owner to sales representativesInstitutionalizes a credible and constructive transformational relationship through adding value across the broader organization
Your areas of knowledge and expertise
that matter most for this role:
Outstanding sales experience and track record in Consumer Goods industry (Beverage Preferred), 5+ years
Distributor and Supplier experience preferred
Experience consulting with 3rd party distributor partners in joint business planning
Strong analytical and financial acumen and experience with financial planning systems
4+ years’ experience managing and motivating third party sales teams preferred
Demonstrates excellence in sales with the ability to teach, develop, and coach others
Excellent negotiator and influencer
Excellent communication skills, including presentation and training ability
Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Valid Driver’s License
Bachelor‘s Degree preferred
Fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage
Travel up to: 50%
