We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Manager at our main office in East Weymouth, MA (20 minutes south of Boston). The Quality Manager must ensure Food Safety and Quality is always maintained. Promote a safe and quality orientated environment. Oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the BRC System, including food safety fundamentals, food safety plan and food quality plan. Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the BRC System. The Quality Manager position reports to the Director of Technical Services.

Essential Job Functions

  • BRC Practitioner
  • Manage Quality team of 10-12 people in 3 local facilities.
  • Facilitate HACCP, GMP and food safety training for all plant employees.
  • Oversee and ensure all production quality, safety and operational records are maintained accurately and completely.
  • Provide a strong presence on the manufacturing floor to assure compliance to process controls and to support operations.
  • Provide guidance to the Quality personnel to solve quality related issues.
  • Prepare and manage documentation as needed.
  • Conduct Internal Audits.
  • Accompanies external auditors and answers any external audits observation.
  • Responsible for the Quality System.
  • Approves changes to the BRC system and equipment.
  • Responsible for the Annual Management Review.
  • Enforces Good Manufacturing Practices within the company.
  • Responsible for the validation and verification of the BRC system and its changes.
  • Assure that SOPs are followed and revised when needed.
  • Maintain consistency in quality during production.
  • Has the sole authority to approve or reject product.

Professional Requirements

  • Expert in GMP’S, HACCP, SQF, BRC, quality systems and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Extensive audit experience.
  • Able to analyze detailed information and collect data.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Experience and/or Education

  • Minimum of (5) five years related experience and/or training.
  • College degree in Biology or Microbiology.
  • Experience in drug, food or beverage manufacturing plant.

Certifications

  • FSMA PCQI
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Advanced HACCP and HACCP Certified
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor / BRC Auditor
  • SQF/BRC Practitioner

  • Proficiency with PC’s and related software with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
