Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC, is seeking an experienced Litigation and Corporate Legal Assistant to support the Firm's growth in our Chicago, IL office. The Legal Assistant will collaborate with up to four attorneys and be responsible for maintaining an effective daily workflow, while independently managing administrative services to support business clients. Additionally, the ideal candidate will provide assistance at the front desk as needed. This is a full-time opportunity, and salary will be commensurate with experience.
Job Responsibilities:

Managing assigned attorneys’ dockets, calendars, and appointments

Screening incoming client calls and correspondence and responding as necessary

Composing and preparing confidential correspondence, reports and other complex corporate documents

Preparation and filings with governmental authorities in Illinois and other states

Preparing legal binders as needed
-
Conducting attorney time entry and billing
-
Making travel arrangements when necessary

Maintaining confidentiality of all firm and client matters

Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word – ability to quickly format documents, use outline tools, tables of content, etc.

Highly proficient in using PDF manipulation software

Exceptionally well organized and detail oriented with strong proof reading and prioritization skills

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

Experience using a document management system

Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of firm employees

Proactive, positive, energetic and hard-working team player

Understands the importance of confidentiality

High school diploma or equivalent is required; bachelor's degree is preferred
