Complex Networks is looking for a capable and dynamic financial Controller to join our Finance department. The financial Controller must deliver precise information under strict deadlines. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience working in a digital media landscape.
Lead the accounting function of the company
Ensure accuracy of historical financial records in accordance with GAAP and support implementation of new accounting standards
Oversee financial reporting to internal stakeholders, investors and auditors including timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly closes, as well as ad hoc requests from these parties
Oversee banking platform with JPM
Oversees preparation of audit reports and tax filings
Identify and promote implementation of process/ system improvements to streamline reporting process
Develop cross departmental processes to improve timeline and quality of financial submissions (from invoicing support to payables). Key partners include:
Brand Partnerships and Revenue Operations for the tracking/review of ad sales contracts
Production Finance for the tracking/reporting of production costs
Legal for the documentation of agreements with clients and vendors
Human resources for the tracking of payroll and benefit costs for current employees
Support CFO in evaluation of company ventures or special projects, and programs
Establish/monitor internal control to minimize risk of errors/fraud and promote culture of integrity
B.A./B.S. in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting; CPA required
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably within the Media/Entertainment industry
Thorough understanding of Digital Media industry & practices
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards and accounting procedures
Results-oriented leader with ability to balance multiple assignments at a time in a fast paced environment to achieve desired results
Experience identifying and driving process improvements and change
