This is a Director of Sales position with Marley Engineered Products LLC.
The Director of Sales is responsible for developing the Marley Engineered Product’s sales strategy and ensuring successful execution of the strategy in order to support overall BU goals for growth and market penetration.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Achieving sales results within varied distribution channels through the development and implementation of promotional programs, pricing policies, sales policies, support tools, etc. Relevant sales results include gross sales, profits, and management objectives.
Providing leadership and oversight to sales managers and external sales reps, and providing accountability for achieving results.
Conducting ongoing evaluation of the Direct and Manufacturer Representative sales organizations, seeking opportunities to upgrade capabilities.
Having a thorough understanding of the market and synthesizing market insights to develop meaningful long-term and short-term strategies for the BU and sales organization. This includes having a systematic approach to gathering, maintaining, analyzing and communicating up to date information about competitive activities, market conditions, economic influences, target accounts, current accounts, customer profiles, agency profiles, market share, etc.
Ensuring that field sales team is continuously providing Product Management and Marketing teams with essential market insights on competition, general market conditions, marketing pricing/promotions, distribution channel changes and any other item material to the business.
Developing strong cross-functional relationships to ensure alignment on marketing strategy, customer programs, new product development planning / implementation, and production needs.
Leading and supporting planning to create a roadmap that satisfies current demand and identifies future growth opportunities, with consideration to aligning product offerings, features, and specifications with customer demand while maximizing value during a product’s life cycle. .
Developing and managing departmental budgets, annual sales plans, sales incentive plans, and proactively communicating impacts to outlook and forecasts,
Developing value selling tools that differentiate our company’s products and grow accounts.
Requires 50-60% travel.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required
10 years of sales experience in a mechanical goods related industry, with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience at the Director level.
Minimum of three (3) years in experience in a direct sales and an agent based sales channel environment.
Preferred Education / Experience: MBA
