The business planner role supports regional and system level strategic planning and development by coordinating market
analysis and measurement of strategic performance, developing competitor profiles, developing and supporting strategic
planning infrastructure projects and other business planning projects, as directed.
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of two yrs of experience with data systems, healthcare specific preferred and knowledge of variety of publicly available data sources including census data, federal and state data repositories and any third party healthcare data systems required. Experience with digital mapping systems preferred.
Additional skills required: Current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility with demonstrated expertise in spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software; equipment used in performing assigned duties. Excellent analytical skills and must be able to derive conclusions from the data. Understanding of customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations. Strong coordination, organizational, and computer skills, particularly in data management, market research, and basic financial analysis. Willing and able to work autonomously and perform self-check to ensure data integrity. Ability to function effectively in an environment with multiple and fluctuating priorities; successfully manage multiple high priority projects simultaneously; and take direction from, or support, multiple managers. Decision-making, project leadership and consultation skills a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be a team player, work in matrix environment, contribute to a positive working environment and demonstrate initiative, ownership and accountability. Writes in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner in both report and presentation formats. Communicated promptly, openly, and effectively teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills to effectively interact throughout organization. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
Additional Skills preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and internal data applications a plus. Knowledge of database management systems a plus.
