Title of Position: Director of Information Technology
Position Level: Senior Group Manager, Exempt
The Silvi Group Companies, a progressive, vertically integrated, manufacturer of Ready-Mix concrete and construction building materials, are searching for a hands-on Director to lead our Information Technology Group. The Director will be asked to continuously monitor the software/system requirements and current shortfalls of all departments, recommending then implementing, IT solutions. This position will also spearhead a long-term systems modernization project designed to keep the Silvi Group Companies on the cutting edge of IT infrastructure and services with respect to both internal processes and customer communication. The successful candidate has experience with modern ERP systems that support accounting, manufacturing, logistics, maintenance and quality control functionalities. This Director must be comfortable driving change throughout the System Development Life Cycle by working across teams from functionality analysis through development, implementation and maintenance. Prior experience as an analyst and in IT management is a must.
Through a combination of growth and acquisitions, Silvi Concrete has become one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of concrete products in the Northeast, US. Today, the company manufactures concrete at multiple locations and supplies those plants with materials from its internal mining operations and deep-water port facility.
Position Essential Functions Responsibilities
Implements the development and design of new applications , in addition to changing existing computer systems and software packages to meet Corporate strategic objectives.
Manage the software development life cycle and methodologies for all software assets.
Create and revise IT Modernization Plan on an annual basis ensuring its coherence with the Corporation’s overall strategic plan.
Develops and maintains plans outlining steps and time tables for developing, testing and installing applications.
Continuously research and identify emerging information technology and software solutions which could be implemented to satisfy or improve compliance with strategic objectives.
Serve as primary contact with outside vendors in the generation of RFPs, bids, contracts, agreements, and other major vendor interactions.
Act as an internal resource in all aspects of application development and quality assurance, lead 3 rd party resources as needed.
Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems or questions.
Create and monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance.
Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
Adapts to changes in the work environment.
Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
Perform all other functions as necessary/required to meet goals.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related field and five years management/leadership experience.
Proven experience as a Director or similar leadership role.
IT experience in the fields of transportation, logistics, aggregate, concrete, or manufacturing is a plus.
Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy.
Recent experience developing, designing, and implementing new applications.
Understanding of budgets and business-planning.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Environments.
Experience with Cloud computing and Cloud technologies.
Experience with accountings software products, particularly in a manufacturing setting; utilizing cost accounting, scheduling and inventory modules.
Large scale project management experience.
Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills.
Good organizational and management skills which demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, flexibility and detail-oriented thought process.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with all managers, employees, vendors and customers.
Ability to multi task with several different projects at one time, responding effectively to needs of the business, and prioritizing project completion.
