The VISTA will work directly with the Director of Programs and the Intake Department to overhaul the department’s standard operating procedures, with an emphasis on incorporating new COVID-19 policies, improving client data collection, and increasing the efficacy of internal program referral practices. These new operating procedures will improve service provision, increase the capacity for data-focused program analysis, and reduce negative client outcomes. ···· The VISTA will serve as part of an intra-agency team studying and refining A Safe Haven Foundation’s model. The project is intended to identify and systematize best practices and update agency policies and procedures to reflect the most recent evidence-based recommendations for substance use social service care provision. This will allow ASHF to effectively scale its services and better serve homeless individuals in Chicago — particularly those at high-risk for opioid addiction — ultimately helping them transition out of poverty by creating greater access to treatment and other services.
Member Duties : – Review and learn the current processes for client intake and referrals for each of A Safe Haven Foundation’s residential programs. – Conduct (1) staff interviews and (2) an intake Data Quality Assessment using a certified, research-based methodology to determine program data quality in order to identify which processes require alteration or refinement. – Propose multiple new data collection methods and conduct A/B testing on said methods to determine which approach is most accurate. – Determine methods for educating and training intake staff regarding changes in data collection processes and create guides and other helpful tools to help staff adhere to client data collection best practices. – Develop a new system and subsequent procedures for inter-program referrals to be applied across all ASHF programs that allows for faster, more accurate placement of clients.
