The Product Marketing Analyst will be responsible for contributing to and managing the development and execution of strategic product marketing strategies designed to increase student enrollments at ground campuses and online programs for the School of Education and School of Nursing and Health Professions. Provide support as needed for the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Business, Brandman MyPath and campuses.

The position regularly interacts with stakeholders across the organization, specifically the School of Education and the School of Nursing and Health Professions; including School Deans, faculty, program directors, outreach team and other internal key stakeholders, with regard to product marketing strategies and materials. Work with the marketing team members to analyze marketing strategy results and effectiveness. Monitor and ensure effectiveness in all areas of product marketing strategy management and, work closely with the Marketing Project Manager to determine project scope, budgets, timelines, production and delivery. The position will also play an active role as an account manager in facilitating projects for assigned schools and campuses.

The incumbent will work independently under general direction of the Director of Product Marketing.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions: 100% of time

Product Marketing of School of Education and School of Nursing & Health Professions

  • Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to and manage the product marketing strategy development from beginning to end, including major milestones.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking inside and outside the category and provide innovative ideas to increase awareness and enrollments
  • Develop key messaging strategies and marketing plans for assigned business units, School of Education, and School of Nursing and Health Professions that are consistent and effective across all marketing channels
  • Deliver product marketing strategies to Media, Communications, Outreach, and agencies. Guide these teams’ translation of the product marketing strategy into a project plan in conjunction with the Marketing Project Manager. Play an active role in facilitating projects for schools and campuses by ensuring project deliverables are delivered on-time and on-strategy.
  • Liaise with all relevant stakeholders across the organization to meet project deadlines/deliverables as defined in project plan
  • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Conduct status meetings as required ensuring all marketing strategy assets align
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans. Assist with sending, following up, and reviewing proof comments to help move projects along and resolve open issues in Workfront during the school/outreach/campus proof review stage, according to the defined proofing process.
  • Escalate concerns to leadership to keep assigned projects on track
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement product marketing plans, including networking with key contacts outside of own area of expertise
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may recommend and/or coordinate activities of other personnel
  • Assessment:
  • Proactive in providing insights to internal marketing partners to drive program enrollments
  • Analyze marketing strategy ROI to make recommendations based on key lessons learned from marketing strategies
  • Analyze primary and secondary research, and product sales data to garner insights that shape each/assigned Brandman school’s program, marketing, and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in other initiatives as needed by department and organization

Support Campuses & School:

Provide support as needed for campus and school marketing initiatives of the School of Arts & Sciences, School of Business, Brandman MyPath and campuses, including but not limited to:

  • Assist in Customer Service:
  • Maintain relationships with 28 campuses and 5 Schools
  • Serve as point of contact for campus directors and territory Account Executives
  • Manage individual projects as well as larger university marketing strategies
  • Assist in Strategic Planning:
  • Assist in developing campus marketing strategy
  • Analyze local market metrics and identify go-to-market gaps
  • Recommend market-level focus areas and initiatives, in order to achieve larger university and school goals
  • Assist in delivering campus marketing strategies to Media, Communications, Outreach and agencies. Guide these teams’ translation of the campus marketing strategy into a project plan in conjunction with marketing project manager. Ensure project deliverables are delivered on-time and on-strategy:
  • Provide recommendations to Media, Communications, and Outreach as part of annual product marketing development process
  • Assist campus directors and Account Executives with defining the business need for ad hoc requests. Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion:
  • Conduct status meetings as required ensuring all marketing strategy assets align
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues and devise contingency plans
  • Escalate concerns to leadership to keep assigned projects on track
  • Special projects as identified by Director of Product Marketing, Associate Vice Chancellor of Marketing Operations, and the Executive Vice Chancellor of Marketing/Chief Marketing Officer
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Conditions of Employment:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Need to be able to work flexible hours particularly given campuses’ extended hours of operation. Applicants for this position are subject to a criminal history review.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 3-5 years of professional marketing experience preferably in product marketing, market research, messaging, positioning, branding, creative development, and marketing strategy execution
  • Familiarity with and ability to analyze market research and product sales data
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent meeting planning and management skills
  • Ability to follow up and follow through
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be collaborative

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education or education technology
  • Prior experience in a project management system (WorkFront, WorkZone, BaseCamp, etc.)
  • Project management across multiple stakeholders
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player, able to shift gears and help a team member due to shifting priorities
  • Accountable for their work and end results

Knowledge and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing, or equivalent work experience.
  • MBA preferred
  • Strong relationship building skills, good listener, collaborator and influencer
  • Thrives in taking initiative and comfortable leading projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects and manage multiple deadlines
