Duties
Summary
This position is part of the San Francisco Bay-Delta Fish and Wildlife Office. As an Office Assistant you will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and clerical support services to ensure smooth and orderly flow of office work.

Responsibilities
Compose, edit, and type a variety of scientific and highly technical correspondence to include reports, letter, memos, agreements, Federal Register notices, environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, biological opinions, research proposals, Records of Decision, transmittal documents, habitat conservation plans, and other scientific reports.
Maintains database of all incoming work items and work assignments for a division, revising the status as assignments move through the office and are completes.
Prepares travel arrangements and processes travel vouchers for division staff.
Maintain a filing system for technical, scientific, and specialized documents.
Track budget expenditures and prepare reports of budgetary information.
Perform other general office support to facilitate the workflow of the division such as scheduling appointments and meetings, answering a multi-line phone, sorting mail, sending faxes, reviewing employee time sheets, etc.

You may qualify at the GS-05 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:
One year of general work experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service that provided progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates I have acquired the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position ; OR
Successfully completed two years (60 semesters or equivalent) of education above the high school level in any field at an accredited educational institution; OR
Have a combination of general experience and education as described above, that, when computed as percentages of their respective requirements, equals at least 100% when combined. Only education beyond the first year (30 semesters or equivalent) is creditable using this method.
