Provider (Physicians/ Advanced Practitioners) Onboarding Navigator - Danbury, Connecticut (60 miles from New York City)
This role is responsible for the management of the new hire process of physicians and advanced practitioners.
Nuvance Health is seeking two Onboarding Navigators to join the Nuvance Health Medical Practice administrative team in our new corporate facilities based in Danbury, Connecticut. This position will partner with our Medical Group leadership and operations team and other stakeholders throughout the organization while working closely with our newly hired physicians and advanced practitioners to ensure a successful onboarding experience, from time of hire through to start date. This position will interact with newly hired physicians and advanced practice providers and internal stakeholders throughout our larger Nuvance Health 7 hospital system and employed medical group.
The Onboarding Navigator is responsible for the management and oversight of the Nuvance Health provider onboarding process. The Navigator provides concierge-level service to our Nuvance Health Medical Practice employed providers and Professional Service Agreement providers (physicians, physician assistants, and advanced nurse practitioners) to guide them through the required onboarding processes from offer acceptance to start date, including but not limited to tracking state licensure, Medical Staff credentialing, Managed Care Credentialing, pre-employment HR requirements, Operational readiness, and relocation support.
1.Accountable for the provider communication process from offer acceptance until start date, including with the candidate and internal stakeholders, such as, but not limited to, Hospital Medical Staff Offices, Managed Care Credentialing, Provider Recruitment, HR Onboarding, Operations, IT, Marketing, and Medical Group Leadership. Includes introductory email to internal stakeholders to initiate all onboarding activities.
2.Tracking candidates progress on obtaining the required licensure and meeting all credentialing and HR deadlines, including working with candidates and internal departments to ensure that all required paperwork/ e-forms are submitted accurately and timely; facilitate follow up with candidates on missing items.
3.Create and maintain a centralized onboarding project status dashboard that tracks all required onboarding tasks, progress, and completion for all provider candidates and create ad hoc reports as needed. Track timelines and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
4.Administer and lead regularly scheduled meetings to communicate with internal departments (HR, Credentialing, Medical Staff Offices, Practice Managers, Operations Directors) about new hire timelines and status updates, including any barriers.
5.Connect candidates with Nuvance Engagement Programs and community resources that as needed and provide additional information to provider spouses/partner as needed.
6.Accountable for the results of key performance metrics to track the success of the provider onboarding process.
7.Maintain current knowledge of Nuvance Health employment policies, benefits, and all credentialing processes to answer candidate questions as needed or be able to direct candidates to the appropriate subject matter experts.
8.Provide back up support to other members of the navigator team as needed.
9.Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
- This position requires a BA/B.S. in communications, marketing, health sciences, Human Resources, or other related field and 2-5 years of experience in not-for-profit, health care, sales/marketing, or other equivalent experience.

License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:
- Previous experience in healthcare supporting new provider hires either from Operations or Credentialing.
- Project management experience.
- Understanding of the New York State and Connecticut medical licensing requirements.
- Understanding of medical staff and managed care credentialing processes.
- Familiarity with communities within the Nuvance Health Service Area.
