Job Description:

Francis Parker Athletics Department is seeking a qualified candidate for the Manager of Athletic Facilities and Equipment (MAFE). This person will report to the Athletic Director and will oversee all facility management, special event and game operations. The Athletic Facilities and Equipment Manager is also responsible for maintaining all equipment and uniforms, including the maintaining of inventory and the purchases of those items when required. In addition to their role in the Athletics Department, the MAFE will serve the school as Receiving Coordinator. The individual will work closely with both internal and external constituents, as well as Francis Parker coaching staff, employees, vendors and spectators. The Athletic Facilities and Equipment Manager is expected to work standard office hours, in addition to nights and weekends when athletic and or campus events are taking place within the Athletic Facilities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Acquire full knowledge of Parker’s athletic venues. This includes knowledge of keys for athletic doors, janitorial responsibilities, risk management procedures, identifying maintenance needs, facility floor plans, building codes, etc.
  • Conduct daily/weekly facility walk-throughs to identify maintenance needs and complete facility checklists pertaining to each facility.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Submission, scheduling, and oversight of all maintenance requests, track via facilities agenda and verify completion.
  • Serve as Facility Manager for all on-campus athletic facilities.
  • Work in conjunction with Athletics Administrative Assistant to send weekly schedule.
  • Work with coaches to assess team's need, obtain quotes, generate uniform/gear/equipment order, place and receive order.
  • Establishes, maintains, and reconciles uniform and equipment inventories, and oversees the maintenance of all inventory records for the program.
  • Oversee the storage and distribution of uniforms and equipment.
  • Track and assess uniforms and equipment inventory. Replace when necessary.
  • Travel with selected athletic teams as deemed appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Game Operations:

  • Development and execution of game management responsibilities including:
  • Ensure all aspects of the facilities are ready for competition, including housekeeping, grounds/court, etc.
  • Make sure all game equipment is operational (i.e. Scoreboards, Sound Systems, Lighting Fixtures, Sport Specific Equipment (Basketball Goals, Volleyball Nets, Soccer Goals, Play Clocks, etc.) and anything else pertaining to game day execution
  • Game announcing as needed for events determined by the Athletic Department.
  • Breakdown of all game equipment after the event.


  • Process, record and distribute daily package deliveries to Linda Vista campus. Work with vendors and procurement department to resolve any receiving discrepancies.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating and personal interface skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with the public, other employees and donors.
  • Must be flexible working nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be proactive, observant and possess the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to make decisions and handle conflicts independently.
  • Problem-solving skills and creativity.
  • Experience working and communicating with diverse groups of people.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Moderate physical activity. Requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.


  • Associate's degree and three years of related experience or a high school graduate and five years of experience working with athletic equipment, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of all types of athletic equipment and its proper use.
  • Being a positive and contributing member of the professional community.
