Wells Fargo Technology sets IT strategy; enhances the design, development, and operations of our systems; optimizes the Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; provides information security; and enables continuous banking access through in-store, online, ATM, and other channels to Wells Fargo’s more than 70 million global customers.
The Technology Control group resides within the overall Wells Fargo Technology organization. Its functions improve how we own, assess, manage, and report technology risks, while ensuring that we have strong technology risk expertise, employ the concept of risk management as a utility – operationalizing for efficiency, and move us to progressive risk management based on data and analytical processes.
The Central Risk Services Team resides within the Technology Risk Management function and has responsibility for Risk Assessments, Audit Coordination, Reporting, Metrics, Cross Functional Programs and Issue Management. This position will sit within the Technology Group Issue Management (GIM) team, providing Technology Issue Management program oversight.
More specifically, this role will focus on the following:
Navigating within issue management system of record (SHRP) to identify source, issue, and corrective action records and interpret the data within the system.
Performing root cause analysis techniques to analyze identified issues and defects
Defining enterprise wide issue resolution strategies taking into consideration cross LOB impacts.
Working with key stakeholder to ensure new issues and corrective actions meet policy standards prior to being formally entered within the system of record
Managing a portfolio of new and existing issue throughout the issue lifecyle and partnering with other risk managers to maintain the quality and compliance of those issues
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and being "an agent of change", particularly in relation to the Issue Management framework
Providing credible challenge in a constructive manner to all levels of leadership
Encouraging and facilitating our approach, including cross-functional / cross divisional cooperation and eliminating any form of silo mentality
Contributing proactively towards developing detailed procedures, guidance and FAQs for the Issue Management process as well as identifying, assessing and prioritizing process enhancements
This is a highly visible role requiring strong interpersonal skills, organizational capabilities, presentation skills and leadership capabilities.
10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management
Advanced knowledge of issue management policy
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
1+ year of project management experience
1+ year of risk management experience
Other Desired Qualifications
Previous Issue Management experience
Business continuity planning and/or data resiliency experience.
Previous experience in Technology Operational Risk role
Experience in compliance, operational risk, IT systems security, business process mgmt. or financial services (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk).
Broad knowledge of technology and the associated challenges, risks and required controls
Track record of providing constructive challenge with appropriate issue escalation and offering solution
Strong ability and experience working with and collaborating with leaders and team members at all levels and across functional lines
Demonstrated ability to manage in a matrix environment both domestically and internationally
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of strategic elements of financial, operational, technical and regulatory environments across a complex global services environment
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
