The Registered Nurse at the Melrose Institute provides and manages direct nursing care to patients. Autonomously and in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team, provides assessment, planning, implementation, intervention, and evaluation skills. This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be to coordinate and supervise patient care delegated to Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants and other assistive personnel. Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. AD/Diploma required. One year experience in an acute care or mental health/behavioral unit desired. Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License BLS required Strong human relations skills Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the insurability requirements relating to Park Nicollet’s motor vehicle violation criteria.
Minimum 1 year acute nursing experience. Behavioral health experience prefered.
