Facebook is seeking Electronic Crime Investigators responsible for investigating and disrupting high impact abuse across Facebook and its subsidiaries. The candidate will have the opportunity to work side by side with security engineers and investigators with more than 5 years of experience in electronic crime investigations and open source intelligence gathering. This position will be located at Facebook HQ in Menlo Park, California.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct targeted research into criminal actors and groups who are impacting Facebook, its subsidiaries and related customers
Identify solutions to improve Facebook’s security controls and prevent fraud
Manage multiple investigations at once while effectively prioritizing time based on team priorities
Document all investigative research for consumption by other team members and management
Work very closely with the rest of the technical investigations staff and other teams within the company
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Intelligence Studies, Cybersecurity or related field
Experience in one or more of the following areas: spam, phishing, malware, account takeover, fraudulent apps, and ads fraud
Experience using a variety of Internet research tools
Experience in relational databases and SQ
Time management and organizational experience
Experience participating in the cyber security community
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in network security and basic cryptography
Experience in using and writing scripts in Bash, Perl, or Python
Experience in UNIX based operating systems
