Govig Healthcare Group, the premier Executive Search firm in the Senior Care industry, is seeking a Purchasing Manager for a senior care facility. This property requires a Purchasing Manager who enjoys interacting with individuals in Management, working across multiple facets of the organization, prioritizing daily activities, and can work in a team environment. This position is perfect for an individual with supply chain management in the clinical functional area. This is a strong management group looking for a strong Purchasing Manager to complete the team! 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the purchasing/strategic sourcing functions for clinical supplies and equipment
  • Execute annual analysis and propose procurement plan for the area. Obtain stakeholder buy-in
  • Develop new programs and distribution channels with suppliers and/or manufacturers
  • Develop opportunities and leverage programs from company's group purchasing organizations
  • Conduct sourcing projects to create cost savings for goods and services
  • Ensure the established level of quality products and services are purchased at the lowest cost while adhering to company standards and operating procedures, operating need/specifications, and purchasing best practices
  • Perform field visits as required, combined with operational reviews of the purchasing function at regional and site-level as necessary
  • Operational Procurement Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage supplier contracts and product data
  • Assist corporate departments in identifying sites that are not following established purchasing and supply programs and/or specifications. Coordinate, conduct and participate in meetings between suppliers and corporate staff concerning subjects other than normal price, delivery, or quality negotiations
  • Supervise direct reports. Coach and develop staff to improve skills and productivity
  • Measure program utilization and drive continuous improvement

All potential candidates must have:

  • Working knowledge of long term care clinical products and services, purchasing procedures, and supply chain
  • 4-year degree from accredited university
  • 5 years of experience in supply chain management with experience in contracting of goods and services in the clinical functional area
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, administrative, analytical, and communicative skills
  • Experience with electronic commerce systems
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams
