An opportunity exists for a Healthcare Data Analyst in Perioperative Administration at Penn State Health - Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The analyst will be responsible for customer-focused reporting and analytical support to Perioperative Services and will support the day-to-day activities required in all planning, business development, and data reporting needs. They will facilitate the development and maintenance of data collection, analysis, and reporting of internal and external data to assist leadership in making sound business decisions. They will also promote data integrity through using and developing standards-based measures.
Assists management by participating and/or completing forecasting, strategic planning, metric analysis, and business process improvement plans
Presents complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
Interprets data and develops recommendations based on findings
Develops graphs, reports, and presentations of project results
Gathers, analyzes, and interprets health related data into actionable business plans that support improving and providing access to affordable, quality healthcare
Develops and presents information on ROI including the requirement documents and outcome predictions to members of management to help facilitate decision-making
Creates and presents performance dashboards; generates routine/ad hoc reports
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or Healthcare Management
Three years of experience in strategic planning, reporting, or data analysis
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, graphing, macros and VBA scripting
Strong communication skills and Microsoft tools experience
Knowledge of relational databases and querying techniques (e.g. SQL)
