Position Overview:
TX Headwear is looking for a dynamic and experienced National Sales Director to build, lead, and manage a nationwide team of commission-only sales representatives. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in the B2B apparel space, particularly within a custom product manufacturing environment. As our first and most critical hire, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the sales culture, driving revenue growth, and positioning TX Headwear as a leader in the custom hat industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing, commission-only nationwide sales team with a focus on B2B relationships. Provide ongoing mentorship, support, and leadership to ensure the success of the sales team.
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to penetrate the market, build brand awareness, and achieve revenue targets. Identify key industries and potential clients that align with our custom hat offerings.
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Drive client acquisition efforts, build strong relationships with key decision-makers, and ensure exceptional customer service throughout the sales process. Focus on securing large-volume orders (minimum 200 hats per order).
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and opportunities for growth. Utilize insights to refine sales strategies and product offerings.
- Performance Metrics & Reporting: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track sales team performance, client satisfaction, and overall business growth. Provide regular reports to the executive team, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
- Compensation & Incentives: Collaborate with the executive team to design competitive compensation packages and performance-based incentives that motivate and reward top-performing sales members.
- Equity Participation: As a key hire, you will be eligible for performance-based equity in the business, aligning your success with the company's long-term growth.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in the apparel or custom product manufacturing industry. Proven experience in building and managing a nationwide sales team.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and manage a remote sales team. Strong mentorship skills and a passion for developing talent.
- Sales Expertise: Deep understanding of the sales process, from prospecting to closing. Experience in high-volume, custom product sales is highly desirable.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable sales strategies.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of an organization.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: A self-starter with a results-driven mindset. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment and taking ownership of outcomes.
