This position will be based at a client site in Solon, Ohio. Full-time 40 hours onsite (willing to consider a 20 hour/week job share)
Under the direction of the Manager of Workplace Wellness, the incumbent’s accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Workplace Wellness Program:
Manages process and facilitates activities and projects related to the workplace wellness portfolio that integrates into CareFirst’s products and care management strategies.
Develops annual operating plan and communications plan against designated timelines that are designed to improve the health and culture of the employee population.
Design, develop, promote, coordinate, facilitate, and measure targeted wellness programs for multi-site locations.
Engage members in health coaching through short touchpoints to more intensive full coaching sessions that utilize motivational interviewing and SMART action plans.
Creates motivation and engagement strategies in support of all wellness and clinical services to drive results around engagement and positive health outcomes.
Review client environment and initiate improvements to impact overall health, i.e. healthy cafeteria, non-smoking, and walking areas.
Work in collaboration with third party vendors to coordinate and execute programs and services that can add value as a component of the overall workplace wellness strategy
Develop and lead wellness champion committee.
Assists with vendors, and assist with the negotiation and implementation of vendors that can add value as a component of the overall Workplace Wellness strategy
Partners with Sales, Marketing, TOSS, Operations and Medical Staff, as well as external operations that support developed programs and corporate strategies related to health & wellness.
Coordinates with Data and Informatics areas to analyze and determine the most effective strategies, tools and vendors to enhance worksite wellness. Studies the results of established programs and researches ROI data that can be utilized to effectively market products and improve results for existing customers.
Client Strategy and Consultation
Assesses work site to help the account understand their current culture, health climate, facilities, and policies and how they influence the health of their employee population.
Partners with internal and external key stake holders to integrate, administer & support developed programs and corporate strategies related to health & wellness.
Supports the group and account team with data and information relevant to key wellness activities.
Works closely with data team to evaluate the results of established programs and produces credible ROI data that can be utilized to create benchmarks, recommend best practices, effectively market products and improve results for group.
Monitor and report out on metrics and scorecard outcomes.
Position Location: Solon, OH
Bachelor’s degree required or experience in workplace health promotion, health behavior/health education, public health, healthcare administration, exercise/nutrition science, or related field and 3 - 5 years’ experience in the coordination and evaluation of health & productivity initiatives aimed toward improving the health status of external company employees while reducing medical and lost time costs for the employer. Must possess a working knowledge of current and emerging healthcare trends and health behavior/education principles and communication methods. An independent means of transportation is required, local travel required and occasional travel outside of base location.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written skills, including proven experience assisting with presentations and proposals.
Project management skills in health care or health insurance industry
Analytical skills to evaluate and interpret data and draw conclusions
Initiative and ability to work independently and with others in a team
Ability to positively interface with internal staff and external clients
Ability to juggle multiple projects and timelines
Demonstrated proficiency with various computer applications/software, particularly those related to the development of presentations and proposals.
