The Database Administrator, Jr will manage, administer, maintain, develop and implement policies, procedures, and database functionality for ensuring the security and integrity of database, including data management, ETL, and migration tasks
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)
Test and apply SQL Server updates
Monitor and maintenance of backup and recovery schedules
Maintain data access control policies and ensuring government compliance
Troubleshoot and resolve database and application and data related issues.
Design databases and build tables as well as develop stored procedures and triggers functions and packages.
Database performance monitoring, tuning and optimization.
Ensure user and functional requirements are developed, tested and implemented in a timely manner.
Plan, test and prepare the implementation of new or enhanced infrastructure.
Provide user and functional training to all end-users.
Implement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes and other distributed data issues.
Provide adhoc queries as needed.
Administration, tuning and daily monitoring of replication database for disaster recovery.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Engineering is required.
3+ years database administration experience.
DoD 8570 IAT II Certified.
Secret Clearance (preferred) or ability to obtain Secret.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
An understanding of database architecture, modeling, ETL, normalization is required
Knowledge of Windows 2000, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access at intermediate level, SQL Server (2012, 2014, or 2016), SQL+, Oracle 9i/10g
Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
Ability to travel
