Job responsibilities include:
Fostering entrepreneurship and creative thinking in both the 3D Hub and maker space environments. Specifically:
Participating in client consultation to assess design, (initial creative process) scope and project cost estimates.
Working with students in the 3D lab and interacting with faculty and staff.
Along with the team assuring that excellent quality is maintained and completed in the project work and that it is done in an efficient and effective way.
Facilitating workshops for students on concepts such as 3D design, 3D printing and other creative endeavors.
Encouraging students to participate in maker space activities.
Representing the college to external businesses and the community in a professional manner.
Associates degree required, bachelor's degree preferred
Must have proven, strong communication skills, be a conceptual thinker, have the skills to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team oriented environment.
Must be dependable, positive, and open-minded, and be able to clearly communicate both verbally and visually
Previous experience in a maker space or similar environment is preferred
Has the ability to design and articulate concepts in a clear, concise manner
Has proven design background strongly grounded in 3-D
Has knowledge in 3-D programs especially CAD Design (Solidworks preferred).
Has 1-3 years work experience as a 3-D designer or in a related position
Has the ability to learn and apply new knowledge and skills quickly
Experience in an academic environment is helpful
Hours Per Week: up to 25
Work Schedule: Flexible within Monday - Friday; 8:30am - 5pm
