The Public Relations Manager supports the Company’s efforts in consumer facing media for celebrity, retail and digital initiatives as well as supports corporate communications, internal communications and employee events. Expected to be fully adept at cross platform public relations placements including traditional (television, print, radio) and non-traditional channels (online news, bloggers, and social media) to drive earned media coverage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor
Develops and maintains media contact database with outside agency (NGPR)
Supports Celebrity Ambassadors & Social Media Influencers
Social Media calendar & reporting
Maintains photo library
Manages food orders
Facilitates all necessary legal approvals
Manages day to day internal communications (promotions, new hires, internal events, internal memo distribution scheduling, internal video screens)
Maintains both brands’ newsroom materials including press materials, product photos, logos
Social Media content creation, distribution, & tracking for celebrity ambassadors and social media influencers
Develops and writes various media materials to include press releases, bios, fact sheets, statements, awards, and other corporate communications as directed
Monitors, maintains and distributes all media coverage
Works with outside teams to support media interview prep including talking points
Support PR budgeting and monthly forecasting
First touch on all incoming media inquiries
As member of Communications Team, support all company events as needed
Manage communication team vendors and contracts as needed
Support senior external publicity team on entertainment and consumer media (NPGPR)
Manage day to day events and activities around the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association and any other sponsorship relationships for the company
Various support tasks as needed for PR, Social, & Celebrity
Qualifications (include Education and specific Experience)
Strong verbal and written communication skills - must submit portfolio or writing samples
Ability to multi-task, highly-organized and detail-oriented
Ability to work collaboratively across teams to complete assignments
Strong project management skills
Travel required – 10% to 30% depending on time of year.
Local to national travel - primarily New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville
Holidays, weekends and evening hours, as needed
Bachelor’s degree required, Communication, Public Relations or Journalism degree preferred
3-5 years of professional experience in agency with writing examples
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Strong computer skills. Competent editor of video and visual materials for multiple online platforms. Knowledge of social media tools as well as Word Press.
