We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our team. Under the direction of the Chief Projects Officer, the ideal candidate will have local government experience in permitting and planning, as well as strong work plan development and progress oversight skills. This position will work closely with a wide variety of local government clients throughout the United States and Canada. The position requires a fundamental understanding of planning, permitting, and licensing processes and will work with local governments to analyze, configure and optimize processes while implementing software management systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members. This position involves approximately 25% travel to client sites.
Objectives:
- Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
- Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope.
- Schedule and define budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments.
- Analyze progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects.
- Structure and manage integrated, multi-track project performance metrics.
- Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans.
- Quality Control configurations and project process documents
- Conduct quarterly check-ins with assigned existing clients to maintain client rapport
- Participate in the sales process as needed
- Assist with special projects as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Project management experience
- Local government experience
- Proven success working with all levels of management
- Strong verbal communication, written, and organizational skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong aptitude of technology tools and solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification - such as PMP or PRINCE2
