Mark Farrah Associates (MFA), a leading healthcare business information company, has an immediate need for a Senior Market Analyst.

In this important position, you will support our data products that provide market analysis tools and competitive intelligence for the health insurance industry. This is a hands-on role requiring strong market research, data analysis and communication skills. You will conduct primary and secondary market research to support product development, analyzing, interpreting and preparing relevant data for use in our products. This position will be responsible for scheduled product updates and data validation. You will work with our developers to maintain and enhance product content.

Additionally, this position will be a key contributor to our marketing and business development initiatives, working closely with our product and marketing manager. You will write Healthcare Business Strategy analysis briefs, assist with product training and contribute to business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data analysis, the drive to become an MFA product content expert, and the desire to grow professionally within our company.

Our company is headquartered in the greater Pittsburgh area but the location for this job is flexible for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Refine and develop MFA products by identifying and integrating new data content and analytical capabilities in response to end-user needs
  • Create and apply data validation techniques for quality control of product updates and assurance of data integrity across products
  • Produce useful analysis and write research briefs and market reports to support the company’s business development initiatives
  • Network with industry stakeholders for research and development
  • Interface with customers for product support
  • Support sales efforts by conducting product demos and user group meetings

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to understand business strategy and competitive dynamics within the health insurance industry
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze large data sets, identify insights, and synthesize how these insights impact business decisions
  • Superior data analysis and organizational skills using Microsoft Excel, Access and/or SQL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work in a fast-paced, high performing company that requires consistently connecting with colleagues, customers and industry stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Marketing or related field
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis and market research
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn on the job and grow professionally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and / or experience within the health insurance industry
  • Knowledge of corporate financials and market share assessments
  • Hands-on experience with SQL databases
